Drew and Andrew: Nashville Plantation Wedding

Drew and Andrew have overcome GREAT odds to be together … she went to The University of Alabama, and he went to the University of Tennessee. If these two can put aside their SEC loyalties to make their relationship work, then a few rain showers certainly wouldn’t keep them down on their wedding day!! It was truly an amazing day with lots of joy and loved ones. Their wedding at the Evers Plantation was put together by the amazing team with Jayne Bubis Events. The guests embraced the day, dancing the night away to none other than Super T himself … a few of them even barefoot in the mud! Congrats Drew and Andrew!

Aly and Scott: Belle Meade Wedding

Aly and Scott’s wedding was such a delight in so many ways. They were married at St. George’s Episcopal Church and returned to her father’s home for a lovely evening of dinner and dancing. I loved the details that Aly and Elizabeth James incorporated through the day ~ strands of yellow and navy accented with silver from Aly’s grandmother’s collection. The best part of it all, though, was Aly and Scott’s interaction. They are both sophisticated and understated in the best possible way, and both carried such a clear confidence about each other through the wedding. Don’t miss her end of the night get-away suit that belonged to her grandmother. Congratulations, Aly and Scott!

Megan and Brian: Laguna Beach Engagement

What a treat to spend my afternoon running around Laguna Beach with Megan and Brian ~ I mean, come on. How is this my job to hang out with awesome people at beautiful places!?! I seriously think I had a huge smile on my face for our entire shoot as I watched them interact, laugh, and be so perfect for each other. Their wedding in the fall is going to be just the best. I cannot wait, and I’m pretty sure they can’t either!!

Katie and Brent: Wedding at Houston Station

When Katie called with the news that Brent had popped the question, I knew we were in for something special. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Katie for many years, and every project we’ve done together has been something unique. She has impeccable taste, and leaves no detail unnoticed. The first thing she mentioned was “I’m thinking our invitations will be printed on pieces of wood”. Um, yes please. Photographer’s dream.

We loved working on this wedding with Katie and Brent and were honored to be included. There were so many amazing details that I can’t even begin to include them all. Check out the Southern Living article if you haven’t seen it yet!

The festivities actually started a couple of days before the wedding. Since they were getting married in a winter wonderland in February, we knew their wedding day would be dark and cold … perfect for a wooded wedding, but not so great for portraits. So we planned a time before the wedding to capture some portraits and details of the wedding on Katie’s family farm. It was relaxed, we had SO much fun, and I love the results we got. We even shot a little film (gasp!) and it is totally stunning!

I hope that you enjoy this winter wonderland as much as we did!

Southern Living Weddings: Katie and Brent

You know that feeling of having a really really amazing something, but you can’t share it with anyone? I imagine this must be how guys feel once they have the ring but haven’t asked the question yet. Like they might explode.

This is how I feel about Katie and Brent’s wedding and it is FINALLY time to share! I have been sitting on these images for almost a year now. Trust me … torture … because it was just the loveliest. And Southern Living thought so too!!!

Don’t walk … run!! This year’s edition of Southern Living Weddings just hit stands and it totally took my breath away. Pages and pages of just yummy elegance. I am pretty humbled to be included among such a stunning collection of weddings and photographers.

Mary and Alex: Wedding at Home

I know I’ve said it before, but weddings at home just hit my sweet spot. Maybe it’s too many times of watching Father of the Bride, but a backyard reception is the best! The drizzlies on Mary and Alex’s wedding day couldn’t dampen the excitement and fun of their festivities. I’m completely smitten with the first shot of the invitation against the ah-mazing texture of her wedding gown, and pretty much with this whole wedding in general! What sweet people, families, and memories of celebrating. Congratulations!

Carlisle and Adam: Thompson’s Station Wedding

With all of the cold, I thought I’d imagine warmer days with one of my favorite weddings of the year, Carlisle & Adam. There are few sweeter words to my ear than “Farmhouse Wedding”. Mmmmm … wonderful! Not to mention the fact that Carlisle and Adam are so fun and easy to photograph. What a unique day, coordinated by the wonderful ladies at Big Events Wedding.

Jessica and David: Orange County Wedding

In June we photographed Jessica and David’s wedding in Orange County, California. I have known David for years and might could even dig up some old photos of him and his buddies at their senior prom. I’ll spare us all, but in the meantime, enjoy a few photos from his wedding.

Tami and Daniel: Knoxville Wedding

Well … I have to smile about this one. We had so much fun shooting Daniel and Tami’s wedding for so many reasons, but mostly because he’s my little brother!! It was a bit of a whirlwind weekend for us and I was so lucky to wear many hats at their wedding … photographer, bridesmaid, sister of the groom, and mother of the ring-bearer and a newborn. As we were driving home the following day, Adam asked me if I felt like I had time to process that Daniel had really just gotten married in the midst of it all. I thought about it, and happily said that I didn’t feel like I really even needed to. Having Tami be “official” felt like the most natural, normal thing in the world … and I wouldn’t want it any other way! Here are a few photos from their wedding in Knoxville, Tennessee. A huge thanks to my dear friend and photographer extraordinaire Katie Mosley for coming to help me shoot so I could enjoy the day!

I must say those are the cutest flower-girl and ring-bearer I’ve seen in a while! Though I might be a bit partial since they are my sweet niece and our little Elliott!!

We love you guys so much and looking forward to many years of precious memories together!!
