We had such a beautiful wedding day yesterday celebrating Melissa and Eric! Congrats!
Nashville Lifestyles Weddings Cover and Feature
We are always thrilled for our brides when their weddings are chosen for publication. Ok, yes, and we’re thrilled for ourselves, too! It’s such a great reward for everyone’s hard work ~ the bride, her family, her coordinators, and us as we work to create images that truly capture a day.
We were so excited to hear that Miriam and Chris’s wedding was recently chosen for this year’s Nashville Lifestyles Weddings … and even MORE excited when we heard that they got the COVER shot!! **swoon** I got the cover news in an email that I read just as we were boarding a plane from TN to CA … I think it was one of the fastest plane rides ever! So fun!!
Congrats to Miriam and Chris, and to their florist John Conger on the beautiful cover bouquet.
Here they are on the cover, table of contents, and their wedding feature:
When my copy came in the mail, I absolutely couldn’t put it down! There are tons of celebrity and real weddings that were so much fun to look through. Be sure to pick up your copy (or a few!) on stands now!!
- CONGRATS! CONGRATS! CONGRATS! I am so happy and excited for you. I'll have to go to Barnes and Noble to see if they carry in here. Yay!August 11, 2010 - 11:34 am
Brooke and Jaime: Wedding at Rancho Capistrano
Well, after several weeks in Tennessee, we are so happy to be home to California!! Not to rub it in or anything, but our highs here have been in the upper 70’s vs. the highs in Nashville of upper 90’s … ouch! We love that we get to travel so much and love shooting weddings in both places.
We were so excited to come home to Brooke and Jaime’s wedding at beautiful Rancho Capistrano! The lovely Chelsea Boyd of From Ring to Reception made the day run so smoothly. What a great day of celebrating!
I LOVE when we have pretty places to take getting ready shots … this is always one of my favorite parts of the day!
Jaime getting ready. And yes, I could feel it as it was happening … his portrait on the right is one of my fav groom portraits of all time!
I love small wedding parties. There is so much more that we can do with 4 people than 40. Looking good, team!
The lovely ceremony:
Married!
First Dance:
Toasting, cupcakes, bocce ball … wonderful!
One of my favorites from the night … Brooke and Jaime watching the slideshow of images from throughout their lives. Jaime can’t take his eyes off her!
Brooke and Jaime, we are so thrilled that you found each other!! Congratulations!!
Emily and Gregory: Wedding in Nashville, TN
Ok, ya’ll. We need to shake things up a little here. Agreed? I’ve been a little frustrated with my blog entries because I feel like showing you a handful of my favorite images isn’t really doing our weddings justice. I just feel like I am selling you guys short that you don’t get the FULL feeling of these beautiful events.
So, I thought I’d try out a little something new … aka collages. **WARNING: TONS OF IMAGES TO ENSUE.**
Emily and Gregory’s wedding is a GREAT one to start off with. It was an amazing beautiful day that went off without a hitch thanks to the Big Events team … I really can’t brag on them enough!!!
We started the day at Covenant Presbyterian. Wow. It was my first time shooting there and it’s now officially my favorite indoor ceremony location in Nashville. Did I say wow yet?
Don’t miss Emily’s A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Watters gown from none other than The Bride Room.

Can I just say that Gregory totally rocked this tux? Some guys just have “it” in the tux, and he definitely did:
Beautiful ladies all dressed by The Bride Room:
Love these detail shots … classic!
See what I mean about the whole best indoor ceremony venue thing? WOW!
I always love this ride through town …
And of course, Big Events did it up right at the War Memorial Auditorium for the cocktail hour and reception. Is this a dream or what!?!?
Cocktail:
The interior was absolutely transformed. Love.
Emily and Gregory took a few minutes for a private dinner before their grand entrance. Love these stolen moments in between the “official” events!
This is my kind of party!
Congratulations Emily and Gregory! What an amazing wedding! Congrats!

Tonight I attended Emily and Gregory’s wedding ceremony rehearsal. By this time tomorrow, they will be all hitched!!
We can’t wait!
Katelyn and Chad: Wedding in Murfreesboro, TN
Well, this post officially confirms my suspicion that I need to expand my vocabulary!! I am just running our of words that mean “awesome”, “stunning”, “incredible”, “amazing”. Those words just sound so trite after I’ve said them so many times but I mean them SO sincerely and I have to say them again about Katelyn and Chad’s wedding! It just was … awesome, stunning, incredible, and amazing!
As you know from her bridal shoot, Katelyn is so much fun to shoot. We started at her parents house with her and all of her sweet bridemaids! I don’t like grandiose commitments, but I’m tempted to say that her bridesmaid dresses might be my very favorites to date!

Fellas looking good:
For their reception, we headed to the most amazing venue. It was this so so amazing barn/shed, and leading up to it was the greatest little lane. Oh, that lane! I love you and hope we meet again soon!
It was nearing dark by the time we arrived, and I love the dark, moody feel it created. (*Photographer’s note: I think every one of these was shot on my 50 f/1.2 set wide open. Love that thing!)
This one is so much better to me with the slight blur … so romantic!
And now, the reception. Where to begin? It was amazing!
The getaway … love this moment.
Congrats Chad and Katelyn! What an amazing night for such a great couple!
- I LOVE this venue & the decor! It's gorgeous! And Mary, beautiful shots as always. :) ChelsJuly 25, 2010 - 11:49 am
Amy and Scott: Wedding
Seriously, this has been the MOST amazing summer of weddings. We’ve had such fun couples not to mention AMAZING and unique venues all season long. I’m reminded week after week why I love my job!
Amy and Scott’s wedding was no exception. I have to start with Amy’s to-die-for Amsale dress that she found at our beloved The Bride Room. I just can’t say enough about this dress … it was so simple and classic. Amsale, you’ve done it again!
How cute is Amy?
Scott and his men:
Oh, that BOW!! **swoon** I seriously may have taken 200 photos of it … I just couldn’t stop!
The walk to the ceremony with her sweet family. Such precious moments!
Amy and Scott left the ceremony in the car that her parents left their wedding in. Don’t miss the Audrey-style shawl wrapped around her head for the drive. It was … well … perfect!
Back yard receptions. Have I mentioned before how much I love them?
Dancing with her dad:
What a beautiful amazing night! Congrats Amy and Scott!
Katelyn: Bridal Session
As promised, here are a few of my favorites from Katelyn’s bridal session! What an amazing girl, dress, and session!
Loved, loved her beautiful Melissa Sweet dress!!
Katelyn just oozes grace and confidance in everything she does. I think she would be beautiful swimming in a trash can!

Tree-lined dirt road? Ummm … yes, please!!
How cute is she!?!
A full post about her wedding to Chad coming soon!
